I am NOT a Poet

A poem is more than just words.
Done right, it captures a piece of life.
An otherwise mundane moment is framed.
It becomes eternal.

A poem is not a declaration only of self.
A good poem transcends self and
a door swings open to reality.
Something innate.

A poem brings to life sights and sounds.
It is shared imaginings and dreams. Shared creativity, trust.
Promises of truth, promises of good.
Also, the bitter sweetness of truth betrayed. Of lies, your true side.
A poem is a testament to the twisted human condition.

I am not a poet, but I feel like one. Maybe more so. Maybe more honestly.
I’ve been betrayed by better poets than you.
Your second rate rhymes speak for themselves, pretty Grimm.
You’re not like them, the True poets, them I appreciate. They feel and I know,
because you, I cannot bring myself to feel anything for
.
